This is the story regarding the Instagram account @naturbrilian. The whole “blue checkmark” (verified status) issue has had negative consequences, specifically concerning data used to train Meta’s own AI models. It’s baffling: the moment my blue checkmark subscription expired, my Instagram account was suspended without any prior notice (my Facebook account had previously suffered the same fate). Keep in mind that the “free” perks of the blue checkmark are essentially a lure to get you to provide facial verification, which is then used as training data for their AI. So, whatever you do, maybe wait a bit longer than a month (well, actually, don’t wait that long, haha!).
Deciding to stop using Instagram
Following this suspension, I’ve decided to stop using Instagram altogether. All of my work including designs and other projects, will now be hosted on this website, such as my designs, vector art, and localization projects.
There are workarounds
If you don’t want to wait, some former Facebook users have shared a trick to regain access, switching the language to Hebrew. Yes, Hebrew! Apparently, it has worked for some people, it’s quite bizarre that using Hebrew can restore an account, whereas English doesn’t seem to help! That said, I have no intention of recovering the account.
